About the Role

Position Overview:
The Vice President of Sales will play a pivotal leadership role at Horizon Technologies Ltd., based in Calgary, responsible for spearheading the company’s sales strategy and driving revenue growth. This individual will lead and manage the sales team, develop new market opportunities, and ensure the alignment of sales initiatives with the company’s overarching business goals. Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Sales will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for ensuring consistent revenue growth and market expansion in line with Horizon Technologies' vision.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Leadership:

Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve company growth objectives.
Identify emerging markets, new product opportunities, and competitive advantages to enhance sales efforts.
Work closely with senior leadership to align sales activities with the overall business strategy and financial targets.
Team Leadership and Development:

Lead, manage, and develop a high-performance sales team to exceed revenue and growth targets.
Provide mentoring, training, and performance reviews for sales team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Set clear goals and KPIs for the team and ensure accountability across all sales channels.
Market Expansion and Client Relationships:

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to improve customer acquisition strategies and refine go-to-market efforts.
Represent Horizon Technologies at key industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance market visibility.
Sales Operations and Performance Reporting:

Oversee all sales operations, ensuring efficient lead generation, pipeline management, and accurate revenue forecasting.
Provide regular sales performance updates to the CEO and executive leadership team, including insights on market conditions and performance metrics.
Continuously optimize sales processes to improve efficiency, reduce the sales cycle, and increase win rates.
Revenue and Profit Growth:

Meet and exceed revenue targets, driving long-term profitability and sustainable business growth.
Implement pricing strategies and negotiations with key accounts to maximize profitability.
Monitor market trends and adapt strategies to maintain competitive positioning.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or a related field (MBA preferred).

  • 10+ years of experience in sales leadership, preferably in the technology sector.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing and scaling a sales team.

  • Strong experience in B2B sales and enterprise sales environments.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Experience with CRM platforms and sales analytics tools.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

  • Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market trends and sales methodologies.
