  • Vehicle Operation & Control:Expertise in operating Class 1 vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other heavy trucks.
    Proficient in driving long-haul and regional routes, managing various terrains, road conditions, and weather.

  • Safety & Compliance:Deep knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, safety protocols, and hours of service (HOS) requirements.
    Skilled in performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with legal standards.

  • Navigation & Route Planning:Proficient in GPS navigation and route optimization to enhance efficiency and meet delivery timelines.
    Ability to adapt to unexpected route changes and manage time effectively to avoid delays.

  • Cargo Handling & Securement:Competent in handling, loading, and unloading various types of cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and load securement.
    Trained in the use of tarps, chains, straps, and other equipment to secure loads safely.

  • Logistics & Documentation:Proficient in maintaining accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, cargo, and inspections using electronic logging devices (ELDs) or manual logbooks.
    Experience in completing bills of lading, manifests, and other required paperwork for each trip.

  • Vehicle Maintenance:Knowledgeable in basic truck maintenance, including checking tire pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and overall vehicle performance.
    Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and coordinate repairs when necessary.

  • Customer Service & Communication:Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and warehouse staff.
    Professional demeanor when interacting with customers, ensuring timely and satisfactory delivery of goods.

Education and Certifications


  • Class 1 Driver's License (Required)Valid and up-to-date Class 1 (or equivalent) commercial driver’s license for long-haul driving.

  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certification (Preferred for hazardous materials)Training for handling and transporting dangerous goods.

  • First Aid/CPR Certification (Preferred)Basic first aid and CPR certification to handle emergency situations on the road.
